Public Art in the Bronx

The Hall of Fame for Great Americans is one of the many structures documented in Public Art in the Bronx, a project out of Lehman College. Lehman is one of three CUNY schools in the Bronx, along with BCC and Hostos Community College. Public Art in the Bronx  “provides an overview of works in public places from the earliest created in the 19th century, those produced under the WPA, as well as the more recent projects being produced under such agencies as Percent for Art, Arts for Transit, the Health and Hospital Corporation, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the New York State Dormitory Authority, and the Public Art Fund.” It includes self-guided tours and resources for teachers, along with a public art inventory and biographies of artists.
